A Message From Maggie We are born for a reason. There is already enough for everyone in this world if we all remember that the world is a home for all of us. Let us treat it well through conservation, teamwork and equality. Dare Women's Foundation is for women, men, boys and girls who believe that women can be leaders and create change. In the coming years we hope to continue to empower more women to earn incomes so they can use their voices and become powerful leaders. Thank you for being part of this journey! Future Plans In the coming month Dare plans to carry out a variety of projects. Dare will continue to provide conservation training to the community and local schools in order to improve the relationship between people and their environment. Dare also plans to offer more business and entrepreneurship education to one of the women's groups in Arusha. These women will learn how to run businesses and keep records. After their training they will be able to invite other women's groups from around the country in order to teach them as well. Finally Dare plans to provide 30 more reusable sanitary pads to women in Tanzania. Thank you for your interest and involvement in our work! | Recent Happenings Devota Temu is a powerful woman and agent of change. Devota's resilient personality has helped her face challenges and continue to work towards her goals. She grew up in a home with people who wanted her to work selling her body. She refused to give into their requests and instead found Maggie, who helped her empower herself. With the help of Dare and Maggie, Devota was able to attend coaching school and is now successfully coaching the Dare girl's rugby team. Devota always dreamed of becoming a female guide in Tanzania and has continued to work hard to achieve this dream. The driver tour guiding work in Tanzania is male dominated. She currently attends tourism school and leads hikes up Mount Kilimanjaro. Devota is an amazing example of how Dare has helped powerful women with big dreams become all that they can be while empowering those around them. |

![]() Dear friends and the world in general. I am Maggie Duncan Simbeye, the Founder of the Dare Women's Foundation. I am a Mother! "Mama" in Swahili language! Am proud to be mama!! I am going to write my message to you in English for those who speak it and in Swahili for those who speak it. These are two languages that I know so far. I am writing this message to you to empower this very special day. Women's day!! As also a mother, mother of not only my two children Morgan and Zion, no no no! But Mother for all, Ninaandika ujumbe kuipa nguvu siku ya wanawake duniani! I feel proud to say that, all children/people that lost and of course will lose their mama should take this nice word saying; every woman around you (nowhere is very far, everywhere is close!) should be and we believe is a mama for all. Every single woman! We have special power in us! Kila mwanamke. Tuna nguvu za ziada ndani yetu! Women, no matter how old are you, what language you speak, what nation are you from, how much and what kind of education you have/and whether formally or informally, how many materials you have, how "rich or poor" you are, how much discriminated you have been and many many more, how much children you have from zero to any, just remember that you are born for a very good reason my dear! You are born for the world! The world is waiting for you my dear, it is not very easy but once you remember this word then you get extra power that pushes you forward no matter what! Dunia inakusubiri mpendwa wangu, siyo rahisi sana lakini utakapokumbuka maneno haya utapata nguvu zaidi ambayo itakufanya usonge mbele hata ije nini! And I still believe that, if all women will support the idea of nature and remember that we are all from nature, then they'll remember how much and from what reason ecosystem works the best. Think about Matriachal system when you talk about elephants! This is the Mother of the mothers! Is where I have been learning leadership course from! She leads practically, not only her children. She creates the best world for tomorrow. There are many more examples.
Hebu mfikirie Tembo mwanamke anavyoongoza kundi la Tembo ! Huyu ni mama wa wamama! Na hapa ndipo ninajifunzia uongozi! Anaongoza kwa matendo! Na siyo watoto wake tu! Hua anaandaa dunia nzuri ya kesho. Kuna mifano mingine mingi tu. I have been coming across many ups and downs since I founded Dare Women's Foundation and even before! I'm never perfect! I learn every moment! And I am happy. I have seen girls stop going to school because they miss sanitary napkin but also I have seen girls who not even sure where they bring their birthday gifts to. Because they have too much! And they pile up every year! I have seen women who showers for many minutes, open their showers on and on frequently and water flows down and disappears! I have also seen women who deliver their new little one and they do not have water to clean themselves and their babies. No drinking water. No cooking water. At all! Unless you walk many hours to and fro carrying 20 litres of water from the mudy wells. I see this almost every day in my work with Dare. Kabisa! Labda utembee masaa mengi kwenda na kurudi umebeba lita 20 za maji yenye matope kutoka kwenye mabwawa. Ninayaona haya karibu kila siku ninapofanya kazi na Dare. I have seen women deliver in hospitals where there is no power, who use kerosene light during delivery and their children born effected and I have seen women who deliver in hospitals that have power and all important and needed tools and but still complaining and ask for more. And a lot more we may be all know. I have seen positive impacts when we empower ourselves from the grassroots, small groups of women and men works together we can make good changes. Let's all of us play our part. Think about each other. We are all sharing one atmosphere. Do not take and go, take and give back some. Make the world smile. This is possible for all of us. Na mengine zaidi labda wote tutakua tunayafahamu. Nimeona mafanikio chanya pale tunapoamua kujinyanyua/kujiendeleza wenyewe kutokea chini tu. Ifanye dunia itabasamu. Hili linawezekana kwa sisi sote. Women can do it! What we need is opportunities. We can also empower at some points! Take good example from many families, women pushes families forward especial here in 🇹🇿 Tanzania in Africa and I believe everywhere else in the world! We are leaders! From the womb. Thank you for reading. Wanawake wanaweza! Tunachohitaji tu ni fursa. Sisi pia tunaweza kusaidia! Angalia mifano mingi kutoka katika familia nyingi hapa 🇹🇿 Tanzania Africa na pengine duniani kote! Sisi ni viongozi. Kutokea kwenye matumbo ya uzazi. Asante kwa kusoma. As an International Affairs Fellow for the Conference on World Affairs in Boulder, Colorado, I met Maggie Simbeye as her student ambassador. We bonded immediately and kept in close contact after the conference. The past year and a half, Maggie and I collaborated on something we are both very passionate about, the Dare Rugby Program. Rugby is very popular in Tanzania, however, the opportunity for girls to play is rare. The goal of the Dare Rugby Project is to engage with the community and share rugby with girls who have the passion but no outlet. The need for this project is born from how critical a girl’s youth is to her future. However, there is so much more to this program than just the game itself. Young women in Tanzania are faced with a great number of financial, physical, and psychological adversities. In the face of these hardships, Dare Rugby will work to give young women the rugby experience. The core values of rugby are teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. All of these principles, in one way or another, have impacted my life. I hope that the game and its values will have a positive impact on the girls and the community of Arusha. The ultimate goal of Dare Rugby is provides girls and women with a network of support and guidance. I was recently in Tanzania, playing rugby with Dare Rugby girls and visiting their families. During a set of interviews Maggie and I conducted, I was moved to find that in just one year, rugby and the proximity of the Dare Women’s foundation has positively transformed the lives of all the girls involved. Written By Sophia Cole As the Dare Women's Foundation continues to grow, develop, and expand, we have changed our logo, adopted blue, red and orange as our recognizable colors, and started to brand our foundation. With a uniform new website, business cards, manuals for our reusable pad project, and even chapstick, people all over the world are recognizing DWF.
In addition to the surface level changes to the Dare Women's Foundation, you may also see us pop up on your social media.
